Primark Get Lippy Lip Kits || Review and Swatches

00:12

So Primark are becoming well known for making statements and making you stay on trend. So not are they only known for their clothing they are also making a big hit with the cosmetic department too!
Recently they have bought out these "GET LIPPY" lipstick kits which do have some resemblance to the Kylie Lip Kits but are much less in price considering they retail for only £3!!

There are 4 shades that are available to buy these consist of 2 Metallic shades and 2 Matte shades.(was not able to get hold of molten bronze)

Shades Available  -
  • Molten Lava (Metallic) - This is a nude pink with a gold metallic pigment.
  • Molten Bronze (Metallic) - This is a bronze tone with a gold metallic pigment.
  • Cookie Dough (Matte) - This is a nude flesh toned pink with a matte finish.
  • Chocolate Brownie (Matte) This is a dark brown shade with a matte finish.
Inside these lip kits you will get a lip liner as well as its matching liquid lipstick.

Formula
The formula for these all feel quite oily till they dry, but even when they dry they don't feel fully matte they feel more semi matte than anything else. They didn't dry the lips out, but they did not feel particularly nice on either. The metallic one seemed more nicer on the lips than the matte ones but still was not a nice formula. The drying time for these vary as depending on the colour and how much was applied due to the unevenness of the coverage, metallic one dried faster than the matte and had a better coverage.

Application
The pencil's for the lip kits felt quite hard and was not easy to apply as they didn't glide on, you had to use a bit of pressure to apply them, which made they seem like they came out patchy.
The liquid lipsticks applicator is a doe foot applicator but a very hard one which made it hard to apply as i felt like i didn't have much control with it which made lines come out messy and uneven coverage.

Packaging
The packaging -
  • was eye catching with different finishes and textures used to catch the buyers attention. a simple rectangle with a flimsy window to see the actually product. (can see in the main photo)
The Lip Liner -
  • Slick and simple, has a black coating with a different coloured end depending on the shade of lipstick, and a plastic transparent cap. looks more on the higher end than the liquid lipstick.
The Liquid Lipstick -
  • Very basic and boring, with words "Metallic Liquid Lipstick" or "Matte Liquid Lipstick" which helps identify what the finish of it is. The tube is coloured similar to the shade that inside, with a plain black cap which when you unscrew has a long doe foot applicator attached to it.
Overall
Considering the lips kits only cost £3 each your only going to get what you pay for. I personally wouldn't say they are the worst product out there but they surely are not the best. But they colours are nice. With a little more time spent on the formula they would have been better.

Where to buy?
These can be bought at any Primark store in the UK for only £3. Not sure if they are sold outside of the EU.

Thank you for reading!
I appreciate you taking your time and looking!

Much love
