Urban Decay || Naked Heat Eyeshadow Palette and Lipsticks || Review and Swatches ||

21:39

Once again Urban Decay has graced us with another palette to add to the "NAKED" collection. The "HEAT" palette is the 6th addition to the collection, made up of warm toned Red's, Browns, and burnt hues.

Also released with this collection was 3 limited edition lipsticks that are all warm toned and 2 eyeliners (which I was not able to get hold off due to being out of stock.
The "HEAT" Palette and the eyeliners will be permanent, unlike the lipsticks.

The "HEAT" Palette

The texture of the shadows vary, the matte shades feel drier than previous palettes with one feeling very chalky (En Fuengo) and the shimmers feeling very buttery and soft. When it came to applying the eyeshadows I had no issue with them except for the one mentioned above, they blended well and the pigment was really good, also hardly any fallout!
Made up of 12 eye shadows we are given a mix of
7 mattes, and 2 shimmers and 3 metallics.

The Shadows
Ounce - Ivory Shimmer
Chaser - Light Brown Nude Matte
Sauced - Soft Terra-Cotta Matte
Low Blow - Medium Brown Matte
Lumbre - Copper Shimmer With Gold Shift
He Devil - Burnt Red Matte
Dirty Talk - Burnt Red Metallic
Scorched - Deep Red Metallic (With Gold Micro-Shimmer)
Cayenne - Dark Terra-Cotta Matte
En Fuengo - Burgundy Matte
Ashes - Deep Reddish-Brown Matte
Ember - Deep Copper-Burgundy Metallic

The Lipstick's

All three of these lipsticks are limited edition made for the "NAKED" palette. There is 1 cream and 2 metalized lipsticks. All the shades are comfortable to wear but Heat does have a more gritty texture than Scorched. All are quite pigmented but Fuel has the best pigment payoff!
The Shades are:
  • Fuel - Medium Peach with a Warm Undertone - Cream
  • Scorched - Dark Copper Brown with a Gold and Copper Pearl - Metalized
  • Heat - Medium Dark Red with Gold and Red flecks - Metalized

Packaging

I fell in love with the packaging for both the palette and the lipsticks. The hues that were used on the outer packaging was so eye catching that I could not just walk away from it!

The casing for the palette itself was really nicely done, Personally, I think it could have been more sleek and thinner if the brush compartment wasn't there (the brush was quite useless) but that's my opinion about all the naked palettes. The Lipstick casing was just as pretty with its rose gold cap and gold tube, it made the collection come together.

Overall
I was happy and content with this palette and the shades that we were given, they obviously put in a lot of thought and heart with this and I can safely say we are all very thankful for it! There are more pro's than con's but that's just because I love it!

The pro's
  • Very pigmented
  • The huge mirror
  • Minimal fall out
  • Wide selection of reds, browns and burnt hues.
  • Lovely lipstick shades to match the eyeshadows.
  • Perfect for the grunge look!
The Con's
  • Still not the sleekest palette out there.
  • The useless brush that comes with it.
  • Although I do love the lipsticks "HEAT" was still too gritty in texture

Where to buy?

You can buy the collection from any retailer that sells Urban Decay. My go to is either their Online store Urban Decay or Debenhams. The Palette costs £39.50 and the Lipsticks cost £15.50 each. Prices may vary due to sales.
